1.     Hailing a Taxi?

a.     The Taxi’s follow a circular route and pass every stop along the way.  When you see the checkered flags on the back or the Rio Taxi sign on the front, just wave the boat over and buy your tickets on board.  We only accept cash on the boat.  Keep in mind that the Rio Taxi resembles our tour boats with the exception of the sign and flags.

2.     Do our tours go into the Museum Reach?

a.     Currently, only our Rio Taxi service goes into the new extension of the River Walk.  There is no formal tour here, but the driver can answer questions and speaks about the unique art in this section of the River Walk.

3.     Can I call to find out the estimated time to the next Taxi to my location?

a.     Yes, the dispatch number is 210-225-8002.  They have all our boats on our GPS system.  You may see the system for yourself by clicking here: Rio Taxi GPS.

4.    Can you buy tickets ahead of time?

a.    Technically yes, you may purchase online with us or at a booth.  However we recommend purchasing on board with cash to better understand which ticket you need at the location you board.

5.    What kind of discounts do you offer on the Rio Taxi?

a.    We do not offer any discounts on our Rio Taxi with the following exception.  You may purchase 25 or more in bulk from our Reservations office, Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM at a 10% discount.  They must be the same type of ticket.

6.    Why aren’t there any public tours for the North Reach?

a.     We currently support the Museum Reach with our Rio Taxi service and they have information that they offer about the art installations under the bridges.

7.    Are pets allowed on the Rio Taxi?

a.    We allow only service pets on our boats as we strive to keep the experience as universally enjoyable as possible.

8.    Where on your websites does it show prices for the tour and taxi?

a.     Each section of our website has its pricing below the type of service.

9.    Are scooters, wheelchairs and strollers allowed?

a.     Yes, we try to accommodate most scooters.  Though at times larger scooters are sometimes not able to load due to the size of the ADA area designated on the boat.  Wheelchairs and strollers all generally fit well though we ask the guests to fold their strollers and place them in the back.  Also, in the case of wheelchairs, we may have to direct you to an adjacent stop when the level of the sidewalk in relation to the San Antonio River is not optimal.

10.    Do you have a better map for the Downtown and the Museum Reach?

a.     What information was it that you were seeking that the map didn’t quite provide? We are currently revamping our map with more info in a universal format.  We would love to have your input so we make sure to provide the information you need.  Contact us.

11.    Can I board the Rio Taxi at the Lock & Dam?

a.     You can board the Rio Taxi anywhere along the River.  We will direct you to the nearest safe dock.  The Lock & Dam is an information/beverage station.
